Open Question: Girlfriend advice, please help!?

I'm a fifteen year old girl and I've been trying to get a girlfriend, in real life. I have no problem with talking to people, and I'm direct and forward. I met a girl I liked and thought she liked me too but after a while she stopped talking to me. I'm fat, and not the most attractive girl but I'm not ugly either. What am I doing wrong? And are there any girls 14-17 in Vermont around Burlington and Williston who might be interested? If so, leave your email or something.
