Open Question: was in car accident..looking for reparations from insurance company?

well heres the story, me and two of my friends were driving back from vermont to mass on sunday, the driver nodded off at the wheel and careened off the road and totaled his car. in all of it i smashed my face off something and got a gash and some abrasions on my forehead. now what i was wondering would be if i would be able to get my hospital bills paid and get some personal damages money, anyone with any advice please help... thanks ps. im not looking to sue my friend or anything but i do feel entitled to something from someone...
